St. Timothy's - Completed service project of re-setting the
nails in the deck
outside of the cafeteria.
"Scouting for Food" - April 2005 service project "Scouting for
Food" drive for the Occoneechee Council.
National
Quality Unit Award - 3rd consecutive year (this award typically earned by 50-60% of all packs)
District Pinewood Derby - 1st Place Finish in overall speed category at District Pinewood Derby!
During January, the Pack held its
Pinewood Derby in the St.
Timothy's gym. The winners in each of the categories went on to compete in the district
Pinewood derby in April and our pack not only won the overall
championship for speed, but the rest of our Pack 334 contestants won at least 3rd place or better in
every single category (too many to mention all)!
Arrow of Light - At this year's Blue and Gold Banquet all eight of our oldest scouts in the Senior Webelos rank
earned their "Arrow of Light" award, Cub Scouting's highest achievement.
Champions, Patriots Point Scavenger Hunt
During the April
trip to the USS Yorktown, the pack competed with other packs in an
"information" scavenger hunt. The hunt consisted of finding very
detailed answers about naval ships and WWII battles. Pack 334
took first place and was awarded a specially scripted picture by a
Naval "Top Gun".
Badge of Rank - 100% of our scouts completing their year earned their badge of
rank.
Mentor Pack - Pack 334 served as a "Mentor Pack" for the new Pack 512 at
Windborne Methodist Church
Cub Scouting 75th Anniversary Award - 2005 is the 75th anniversary of Cub Scouting and Pack 334 is on track to earn the Cub Scouts 75th Anniversary Award.
Unparalleled Leadership - Pack has at least one "Trained" leader in each den. In some
cases two or three, significant achievement over past years.
Organizational Growth - New Pack Chair and Committee.
While the Pack has had a "pack committee" for some time, it was
largely a dormant group. This year Kari McMichael, a former St.
Timothy's parent, now known for her heavy involvement in the Boy Scout
program for older scouts, agreed to act as the pack chair. The
addition of Kari and several other committee members strengthened the
pack and will help to insure a healthy future.
Occoneechee Council Training Representative - Battle Whitley nominated by Occoneechee Council to attend summer leader
training conference at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, NM
District Round Table - Pack won two consecutive attendance awards at the District "Round
Table" leader meetings.
